Akhmetov purchased a luxury apartment in Monaco for over $500 million
Ukraine’s wealthiest businessman, Rinat Akhmetov, has purchased a luxury apartment in Monaco worth $554 million through his holding company. If the details are confirmed, this deal could become one of the most expensive residential property sales in history.
This was reported by Bloomberg.
The property is a 21-room residence in the prestigious Mare Terra district, built on reclaimed land along the principality’s coastline. The project was inaugurated in 2024 with the participation of Prince Albert II of Monaco and has already become one of the most prominent luxury real estate developments in Europe.
The apartment is located in the Le Renzo building and occupies approximately 2,500 square meters, excluding terraces and balconies overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The complex features a private pool, a jacuzzi, and at least eight parking spaces.
According to Monaco’s real estate registries and supporting documents, the transaction was completed in 2024 through the businessman’s holding structure.
System Capital Management confirmed its participation in the project but did not disclose details regarding the specific property or its value. The statement reads:
“For over a decade, SCM’s international investment portfolio has included a separate portfolio of premium real estate, as has been publicly reported on multiple occasions. Among its assets is the Le Renzo project, in which we invested in the primary market in 2021.”
According to market estimates, the value of the transaction exceeds previous record sales of luxury real estate worldwide, including properties in London and New York.
Monaco remains one of the world’s most expensive housing markets due to its limited territory and status as a tax haven for wealthy investors. The Mareterra project has been under construction for over a decade and includes more than a hundred villas, townhouses, and apartments with private amenities and access to the waterfront.
Recently, for the first time in 12 years, Akhmetov attended a Shakhtar match; Shefir was spotted near him.
