Andriy Biletsky will lead the new “Center” military group
Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, will head the new "Center" military group, which will serve as a temporary command structure for the Defense Forces and will be responsible for the defense of a significant portion of the Donetsk region.
At the same time, Biletsky will retain his position as commander of the Third Army Corps. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously announced the creation of two new military groups to strengthen the defense of the Donetsk region. The second group, named “Azov,” will be led by Denis Prokopenko, commander of the “Azov” Corps.
This was reported by Biletsky’s deputy, Rodion Kudryashov, in a comment to “LIGA.net.”
Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, recorded a video address directly from Svyatogorsk. He stated that the city remains under the control of the Ukrainian military, thereby refuting claims by Russian leadership that the town had allegedly been captured.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region through the creation of two new combat groups. Their commanders will be Heroes of Ukraine Denys Prokopenko and Andriy Biletsky. Zelenskyy also announced that he had awarded Biletskyy the “Golden Star” of the Hero of Ukraine.
