The BEB dismantled a network of underground gambling dens in Bila Tserkva
In Bila Tserkva, detectives from the Economic Security Bureau have completely shut down an illegal gambling ring consisting of three underground establishments.
The organizers of this illegal business have already been officially notified of the charges against them.
According to the investigation, the closed establishments had been operating for a long time without the required state licenses and without paying taxes to the budget.
The organizers carefully concealed their illegal operations in rented commercial spaces and on the ground floors of residential buildings. Entry to the gambling halls was permitted exclusively by special invitation to a limited circle of vetted customers.
During a series of authorized searches at the service locations and in the suspects’ residences, detectives seized computer equipment, video cameras, cash registers, and thermal printers.
In addition, law enforcement officers discovered draft documents, mobile phones, electronic storage devices, cash, and weapons. All of the physical evidence found has been sent for forensic analysis.
The criminal proceedings are being investigated under Part 2 of Article 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This article provides for strict liability for organizing or conducting unlicensed gambling activities as part of an organized group.
Law enforcement agencies are currently identifying all participants and accomplices in this criminal scheme.
