The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) did not detain the SBU special forces officers for firing on GUR soldiers
The State Bureau of Investigations has opened a criminal case into the shooting between representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Security Service of Ukraine, which took place on September 2 on Yuri Shumsky Street in the Dnipro district of the capital. The agency noted that following the incident, SBI officers did not detain any officials.
Currently, investigators are conducting procedural actions and interviewing those involved in the incident to clarify the circumstances; however, no one has yet been assigned procedural status. The SBI promises to disclose the legal classification and specific articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine under which the investigation was opened after the initial investigative actions are completed.

A video of a confrontation involving gunfire between employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate in Kyiv is circulating online. The released footage shows a verbal altercation and shoving match between those involved in the incident, which later escalated into the use of firearms by SBU special forces against GUR personnel.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the shooting between representatives of the SBU and the GUR in Kyiv “absolutely shameful” and ordered a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
