The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) has exposed a military officer for the illegal sale of assault rifles, grenades, and a military drone
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations exposed a servicemember from one of the units for the illegal sale of weapons, explosive devices, and military equipment.
The suspect had set up an underground operation to sell ammunition and was attempting to sell an expensive unmanned aerial vehicle.
The suspect has been detained, and law enforcement officials are tracing the sources of the dangerous goods.
According to the investigation, the senior soldier illegally stored and sold two Kalashnikov assault rifles, as well as ten F-1 combat grenades with fuses, to civilians.
The soldier received an illegal profit of four thousand dollars from this arsenal. The buyers turned out to be individuals who had no legal grounds for purchasing or possessing such weapons.
In addition to the firearms, the detainee planned to sell a modern “DJI Matrice 4T” quadcopter, which is used for special operations.
The market value of such a device is approximately 300,000 hryvnias, but the soldier valued it at half that amount—150,000 hryvnias.
Investigators are continuing to determine the origin of this drone and other ammunition seized during the searches.
After the suspect’s arrest, law enforcement received information that he may be involved in the systematic sale of explosives through an accomplice.
These circumstances are currently being thoroughly verified and documented as part of an ongoing pre-trial investigation. The man has already been officially notified of his status as a suspect under the article concerning the illegal acquisition, possession, and sale of firearms.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.
