Ukrainian paratroopers test exoskeletons in combat conditions

Ukrainian paratroopers have begun testing exoskeletons in combat conditions, with troops from the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Air Assault Forces becoming the first in Ukraine’s Defense Forces to test the technology directly on frontline positions.

The 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces said it had released video footage showing the use of exoskeletons in the Pokrovsk direction.

“Test samples of exoskeletons have been delivered to units of our corps and are already being used in logistics and at combat positions. In particular, in the Pokrovsk direction — by the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade,” the corps said.

According to the military, the exoskeleton reduces physical strain by up to 30%, allows speeds of up to 20 km/h, and has a range of up to 17 km.

“Artillery personnel endure heavy physical strain every day. They carry 15 to 30 shells daily, each weighing around 50 kg. According to test results, they tire less, work faster, and maintain combat effectiveness longer,” said Colonel Vitalii Serdiuk, head of the missile forces and artillery department and deputy commander of the 7th Corps.

The 7th Corps added: “The introduction of such systems is a continuation of our corps’ technology-driven airborne concept. We are easing extreme human effort through technological solutions.”

Ukrainian paratroopers from the 79th Brigade destroyed the “Oplot” battalion of Russian forces near Pokrovsk.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck drone storage facilities and Russian bases in three regions.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine also reclaimed more territory in a month than Russian forces captured for the first time since 2024.
