Former Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Bornyakov Has Been Appointed Chairman of the Brave1 Supervisory Board
Oleksandr Bornyakov, former acting Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, has been appointed chairman of the supervisory board of Brave1, a state-owned defense technology cluster. In his new role, he will be responsible for the strategic development of the defense innovation ecosystem, the effective funding of R&D, and attracting private investment to the defense tech sector.
“A new phase. I’ve taken the helm of the Brave1 Supervisory Board. I’m returning to where I can create the greatest value for the development of Ukrainian technologies and the defense innovation ecosystem,” he wrote.
Bornyakov noted that he previously worked in the public sector, where he was involved in coordinating, launching, and scaling digital reforms. Now, he said, his task will be to provide strategic guidance for Brave1’s development.
“My role now is to ensure strategic focus, ask the right questions, demand results, and help Brave1 move even faster,” he said.
Among his key priorities, Bornyakov cited improving the effectiveness of Brave1’s grant model so that more defense projects can move from the prototype stage to serial production contracts and deliveries to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
He also plans to work on attracting private capital to Ukrainian defense technologies.
“Attract more private capital by making Brave1 the entry point for investors in defense tech,” Bornyakov wrote.
Another priority he identified is improving the path for Ukrainian defense technologies from development to entry into international markets.
In addition, the new chairman of the Supervisory Board plans to focus the cluster’s activities on areas where Ukraine can aspire to global technological leadership while simultaneously meeting its own defense needs.
At the end of his post, Bornyakov thanked the leadership and members of the Supervisory Board for their trust.
“Thank you to the minister and all members of the Supervisory Board for your trust! We have a lot of work ahead of us,” he wrote.
Earlier, a competition was announced for 272 vacant judge positions in local administrative courts.
