Prosecutor General Kravchenko has not signed the extradition documents for Mindich for two weeks now
For the past two weeks, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has not signed the documents required for Timur Mindich’s extradition from Israel.
This concerns a key figure in the high-profile “Midas” case, who is a close friend and business partner of the President of Ukraine.
The lead investigator in the case, Oleksandr Abakumov, spoke about the delay in the suspect’s extradition process in an interview with the “Ye Pytannya” channel.
According to him, NABU has already completed its part of the work and submitted all necessary documents to the relevant agency.
Detectives emphasize that prompt action in this matter is critically important for the further investigation of corruption schemes.
“We sent the extradition documents to the Office of the Prosecutor General. As far as I know, they have not yet been signed,” noted Oleksandr Abakumov.
Investigators believe that the signature of the Prosecutor General is the formal requirement currently blocking the suspect’s return to Ukraine for investigative proceedings.
“I believe the Prosecutor General should sign this extradition request as soon as possible,” added the representative of the investigation.
Timur Mindich is a central figure in the case, whose testimony could shed light on the involvement of other high-ranking officials in criminal operations.
During a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TIC), NABU Director Semen Kryvonos provided details regarding the departure of Timur Mindich, whom investigators consider to be the leader of a criminal organization in the energy sector.
Mindich, a defendant in the “Energoatom” case, may be involved in the procurement of substandard body armor for the military.
Let’s recall who Timur Mindich is and why he is involved in NABU cases.
Timur Mindich, a suspect in a corruption investigation, likely also had influence over Rustem Umerov, the former defense minister.
NABU conducted searches at the home of Mindich, a co-owner of “Kvartal 95.”
The head of the Bureau of Economic Security, Oleksandr Tsivinsky, commented on reports of possible involvement by BES employees in compiling “dossiers” on individuals implicated in the “Mindichgate” case. According to him, an investigation into this matter was launched immediately.
