A foreign national will stand trial for passing on information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces and possessing weapons
An indictment has been filed against a foreign national who passed on information about the locations of Ukrainian military personnel and illegally possessed weapons.
This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, during martial law, the defendant passed on data regarding the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which could have been used by the aggressor state.
During searches, a Makarov pistol and 16 live rounds were found in his possession.
A plea agreement was reached with the suspect.
He faces up to 8 years in prison for unauthorized disclosure of information and an additional 3 years for illegal possession of a firearm.
The combined sentence could amount to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
The defendant has been in custody since October 2025.
Earlier, the Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented a large-scale explosion in the center of Dnipro by catching a Russian intelligence operative red-handed.
As a reminder, a man was detained in Kyiv for promising “medical care” to evade mobilization.
Also, a Russian agent who was planning the assassination of General Biletsky was detained within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
