Kravchenko was planning an attack on NABU and the SAP even before Operation Carthage – Kryvonos

NABU Director Kryvonos stated that Prosecutor General Kravchenko was the mastermind behind the attack on NABU and the SAP in the summer of 2025, and that he had not abandoned that plan. While preparations for Operation Carthage were underway, the anti-corruption agencies were already aware that a new attack was being planned.

He signed the notices of suspicion for the detectives. We knew that the same kind of attack was being prepared against NABU and SAP. And in fact, that’s what happened, Kryvonos said, commenting on the charges filed against him.

This was discussed at a briefing on September 14 attended by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko.

The Anti-Corruption Action Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko left Ukraine after signing the charges against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Action Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that he is abroad on an official business trip. 

The Anti-Corruption Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko allegedly left Ukraine after signing the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statements regarding the alleged notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and offers of guarantees of immunity.
