Kropiv was appointed to the OGP after all the inspections — Kravchenko

Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that Serhiy Kropiva was appointed to the Office of the Attorney General after all necessary background checks had been conducted.

According to Kravchenko, following his appointment to the Office of the Prosecutor General and regional prosecutor’s offices, there was a significant shortage of staff, so he began searching for specialists with relevant experience.

At first, Kravchenko offered the job to colleagues with whom he had previously worked in the Kyiv region, but they declined. After that, he began looking for candidates in other regions.

Kravchenko did not know Kropiva previously. According to him, he learned that Kropiva was serving as deputy head of the Odesa Regional Administration and was responsible for international affairs. Kropiva was offered a position at the Office of the Prosecutor General, and he accepted.

Subsequently, Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, agreed to allow Kropiva to take a position at the Office of the Prosecutor General.

“Kropiva was appointed after all background checks were completed,” Kravchenko emphasized.

He also noted that the National Agency for Corruption Prevention had no objections to the appointment.

Kravchenko added that he trusted Kropiva and had a normal working relationship with him.

Prosecutor General Kravchenko refused to resign voluntarily.

Prosecutor General Kravchenko disappeared after the NABU and SAPO operation began. According to UP’s sources in political circles, Kravchenko drove into the government quarter, after which no one saw him.
