Lithuania has deported 22 dangerous Belarusian citizens from the country
The Lithuanian State Security Department deemed 22 Belarusian citizens who were working at a local technology company a threat to national security and expelled them from the country. Vilnius authorities revoked their temporary residence permits and banned them from entering the Schengen Area for a period of five years.
According to an investigation led by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the firm participated in a project of the European Union Agency for the Space Program to develop satellite navigation receivers and fraudulently obtained nearly 500,000 euros. Law enforcement officials determined that the company concealed ties to the military-industrial complexes of Belarus and Russia, and the Vilnius Regional Court has already found two Belarusian citizens guilty of this crime.
