Lubinec stated that the bribe for dismissal from the TCC could amount to 20,000 dollars
Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, reported numerous cases of corruption at the territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRSCs and SSCs). According to him, in some cases, conscripts are being extorted for up to $20,000 in exchange for release following illegal mobilization.
Lubinec noted that TCC officials may demand around $10,000 to prevent a person from being taken to a recruitment center after being detained. If a person subject to military service has already been taken to a TCC, the amount, he said, can rise to $20,000.
“The problem is that one segment of society is able to buy its way out, while another segment lacks the resources to do so and is sent to fight,” the ombudsman noted.
Lubinec also stated that sometimes people are mobilized without proper verification of their health or other circumstances, solely to meet recruitment quotas. As a result, he said, such conscripts cannot be assigned to any military unit, yet the very fact that their rights are being violated is already taking place.
The ombudsman emphasized the need to respond to such cases and combat corruption within the mobilization system.
The Ombudsman made these remarks in an interview with “Novyny.Live.”
As a reminder, Lubinets stated that the investigation into the Skelya Regiment is still ongoing, but a case has already been opened.
