A scheme to smuggle goods across the border for $35,000 was uncovered in the Kyiv region
The Kyiv Regional Police have charged a suspect with organizing a scheme to illegally smuggle men of draft age across the state border. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect in the city of Obukhiv while he was in the act of receiving an illegal benefit.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast.

It was established that the deputy head of a public organization demanded $35,000 for facilitating departure from the country during mobilization. Investigators from the Obukhiv District Police Department, with operational support from the SBU, caught the suspect red-handed and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The detainee has been charged with organizing the illegal smuggling of persons across the border and abuse of influence. Measures are currently underway to identify other possible participants in the criminal activity. The suspect faces up to nine years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office announced charges against the heads of two private companies who organized a scheme of fictitious employment to evade mobilization. The two company executives are accused of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through schemes involving the provision of personnel to other enterprises.
As a reminder, the organizer of a scheme to smuggle draft dodgers for $12,000 was detained in Kyiv.
Additionally, an employee of the TCC in Chernihiv Oblast was detained for bribery.
