In the Ternopil region, a man died while his documents were being checked by the TCC
In the Ternopil region, a 47-year-old man died while his documents were being checked by a mobile team from the Territorial Control Center and the Special Police. The resident of the village of Solone in the Tovsten community complained of feeling unwell and died before medical personnel arrived.
A report of the local resident’s death was received via the 102 emergency hotline. An investigative team and medical personnel arrived at the scene.
“The 102 emergency hotline received a report that a 47-year-old local resident had been found dead in the village of Solone, in the Tovstenka community of the Chortkiv District. An investigative and operational team from Police Station No. 4 in Zalishchyky and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene,” law enforcement officials reported.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that a mobile team from the Traffic Control Center and the Special Police Unit was conducting public awareness activities in the Tovstenka community.
While his documents were being checked, the man complained of deteriorating health. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead.
According to Serhiy Zyubanenko, head of the regional police department, no visible signs of a violent death were found on the man’s body.
At the same time, law enforcement officials decided not to jump to conclusions and waited for the official results of the forensic medical examination.
“There were no visible signs of a violent death on the man’s body. At the same time, it was a matter of principle for me not to jump to conclusions and to wait for the official results of the examination. That is why we did not previously disclose the final cause of death. We have now received the experts’ findings. The forensic medical examiners determined that the man’s death was caused by cardiovascular failure,” Zybanenko said.
Thus, according to the findings of the forensic examination, the man’s death was caused by cardiovascular failure.
The information regarding the death has been entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the note “natural death.”
At the same time, the police continue to review the chronology of events and all the circumstances leading up to the man’s death.
“I have instructed the police to establish the sequence of events as thoroughly as possible and to verify all the circumstances that preceded the man’s death. No detail should be overlooked. I am personally overseeing the investigation and will inform the public of its results. The Military Law Enforcement Service is also conducting an investigation into this incident. If any violations are found, they will be dealt with strictly,” Zyubanenko emphasized.
Thus, while the forensic medical examination cited cardiovascular failure as the official cause of death, law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the incident and the actions of those involved.
