In Volyn, a former forester who organized the illegal felling of more than 100 trees will stand trial
In Volyn, an indictment has been filed against the former forester of the Sokyrychiv Forest District, part of the Kivertsi Regional Forestry Administration of the “Polissya Forest Office” branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.” He is accused of illegal logging and abuse of official authority, which resulted in serious consequences.
According to the investigation, the defendant, knowing that he lacked a special permit—a logging permit—organized the illegal felling of more than 100 trees on the territory of the forest district entrusted to him.
The prosecutor’s office noted that these actions caused losses to the state amounting to 1.9 million hryvnias.
The illegally harvested timber, seized during the pretrial investigation, was transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their use.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the Lviv Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigations, with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department in Volyn Oblast.

This was reported on July 24 by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
