MP Vasyl Virastyuk works part-time as a BlaBlaCar driver
Vasyl Virastyuk, a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” party and a well-known strongman, is moonlighting as a driver for BlaBlaCar. Ukrainians are actively discussing the parliamentarian’s unusual way of earning money and sharing their own stories of rides with him on social media.
Posts about rides with Virastyuk quickly gained popularity online, and users began sharing photos and impressions from their trips with the famous athlete and politician.
The discussion began after one social media user posted a screenshot from the BlaBlaCar app. Among the available drivers, the woman noticed Vasyl Virastyuk’s profile.
“I opened BlaBlaCar, and there was Virastyuk,” she wrote in her post.
After that, dozens of comments appeared under the post from Ukrainians who said that the MP has been working as a driver for the ride-sharing service for quite some time.
Users note that rides with Vasyl Virastyuk are comfortable, and the driver himself has a high rating on the app.
One of the passengers posted a photo with the athlete after a ride from Lviv to Rivne.
“Book him, he’s a good driver. I rode with him from Lviv to Rivne,” the Ukrainian woman wrote.
Another user shared her own story of a ride with the MP. According to her, during the trip, Virastyuk complained about people’s excessive attention.
“I rode with him once, and he wrote a review saying what a good passenger I was. He complained about people asking for photos with him in the car, at gas stations, and in stores, while all he really wants is to be a regular person. I even peeled tangerines for him,” the woman said.
In the comments, users not only shared their travel experiences but also actively joked about Virastyuk’s physical condition and the cost of fuel in Ukraine.
