The National Bank of Ukraine will issue a commemorative coin in honor of John Paul II
The National Bank of Ukraine has announced the issuance in 2026 of a commemorative coin dedicated to Pope John Paul II and the 25th anniversary of his apostolic visit to Ukraine.
The upcoming issue was announced by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy and Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Andriy Yurash.
The National Bank noted that the coin will honor the figure of John Paul II, his spiritual legacy, and serve as a continuation of the tradition of Ukrainian-Polish solidarity.
Details regarding the design, denomination, and mintage of the commemorative coin will be announced at a later date.
