The NBU lowered the dollar exchange rate for July 27; the euro also fell in value
The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Monday, July 27. The dollar fell slightly, while the euro dropped more significantly.
According to official data, the U.S. dollar exchange rate as of July 27 is 44.80 UAH, which is 1 kopeck less than on July 24. At the same time, the official euro exchange rate fell by 9 kopecks to 50.96 UAH.
The National Bank also reminded the public that banks have the right to suspend certain money transfers in accordance with financial monitoring legislation.
In particular, a financial institution may temporarily block a transaction if it is atypical for the customer or raises suspicion. If the transfer shows signs of a criminal offense, the bank is required to stop it.
At the same time, the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine may decide to suspend outgoing transactions for up to seven business days.
Transactions that most often attract the attention of banks include frequent P2P transfers, large inflows that do not correspond to declared income, the absence of up-to-date customer verification, or documents confirming the origin of the funds.
If a transaction is blocked, the customer can confirm the legitimacy of the funds’ origin by providing the bank with relevant documents, such as proof of income, property sales, or tax payments.

As a reminder, the National Bank of Ukraine published the official exchange rates for Friday, July 24. The U.S. dollar continued to rise after a slight increase the previous day, while the euro exchange rate remained virtually unchanged.
As of the morning of July 20, relative stability persists in Ukraine’s foreign exchange market. The exchange rates for the dollar and the euro at banks and currency exchange offices have seen only minor changes.
