The new head of the Tax Service has called the fight against the shadow economy a priority
The new head of the State Tax Service, Yuriy Konyushenko, has identified the fight against the shadow economy as the agency’s main task. Filling the state budget is also among its key priorities.
“We are now in a time when the budget and tax collection are priorities on which the protection of the state depends. Therefore, our main task is to effectively combat the shadow economy and replenish the budget. This requires a well-coordinated team and accountability for results,” Konyushenko emphasized.
Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko introduced Konyushenko to the staff of the State Tax Service. During the meeting, key priorities for the Tax Service’s work were also identified. Among them are ensuring stable budget revenues, bringing the economy out of the shadows, and combating tax evasion schemes.
Marchenko emphasized that the State Tax Service plays a vital role in ensuring the state’s financial capacity. The new leadership has been tasked with ensuring the stable operation of the State Tax Service, meeting the budget revenue target, and effectively administering taxes.
At the same time, according to the minister, the Tax Service must ensure transparent operating rules for all market participants and fair treatment of taxpayers.
