Boris Ruge, Germany's new ambassador to Ukraine, has arrived in Kyiv
The new German ambassador to Ukraine, Boris Ruge, has arrived in Kyiv and begun his new post.
In a video, the former German ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Jäger, “hands over” a pin featuring the flags of Germany and Ukraine to Ruge, wishing him success.
Ruge pinned the badge on against the backdrop of a Kyiv street and said, “Let’s get to work!”
Boris Ruge has succeeded Martin Jäger as Germany’s ambassador to Ukraine.

The German Embassy in Ukraine reported this in a symbolic video.
As a reminder, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov arrived in Kyiv on Thursday, August 6, for an official visit. During the trip, he is scheduled to hold talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiga and other high-ranking Ukrainian officials.
Earlier, British Defense Minister Wes Streeting made his first visit to Kyiv since taking office. He came to personally assess Ukraine’s needs ahead of the winter season and determine the next steps for military support.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, together with the “State Logistics Operator,” is preparing to update the technical specifications for individual food rations. The changes are based on the results of a survey conducted via the “Army+” app, in which more than 60,000 military personnel participated.
For the first time, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has included halal and kosher dry rations in daily field rations. This decision was made with the religious beliefs of service members in mind and to raise nutritional standards within the Armed Forces.
