The National Health Service of Ukraine may raise rates for hemodialysis services

The National Health Service of Ukraine is considering raising the rates under the Medical Guarantees Program for hemodialysis services.

According to the agency, it is currently exploring options for revising the cost of dialysis services under the Medical Guarantees Program.

The NHSU is analyzing the costs of services provided by 25 dialysis providers, as “there have been quite a few requests this year to review dialysis rates.”

“Our team is currently compiling all the calculations. We understand that imports account for a very large portion of the dialysis rate, but at the same time, we also see that interest in this service from the private market—for which this is purely a business—has not diminished. We are currently in the final stages of making decisions regarding the proposals we will submit to the Ministry of Health concerning this rate and this service,” she said in an interview with the “Dr. Bulavinova” channel.

Currently, the National Health Service of Ukraine (NSZU) has contracted 119 medical facilities, including 12 private ones, to provide dialysis services under the Primary Medical Care Program. The rate for this service under the contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine is 2,473 UAH; the cost of the service without a referral is 4,000–5,700 UAH.

She noted this in an interview with the “Doctor Bulavinova” channel.
