Operation Forrest Gump: The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Requests ₴150 Million in Bail for Iryna Mudra
The High Anti-Corruption Court has postponed consideration of the issue of a pretrial restraint measure for Iryna Mudra, the former deputy head of the Office of the President, who is a defendant in the “Forest Gump” case.
The hearing on Mudra’s pretrial measure began on August 21 at 2:00 p.m.
The suspect and her defense team requested a postponement due to a deterioration in her health. Mudra stated that she needs time for rehabilitation, as her health, she said, has deteriorated in light of recent events.
Her attorneys also requested that the hearing be held in closed session, arguing that the case files contain information about Mudriy’s personal and family life.
However, the court denied the request to hold the hearing in closed session and continued the proceedings in open court.
As a result, consideration of the issue of a pretrial restraint was postponed until Monday, August 24. By that time, the defense will have had the opportunity to review the case materials.
The prosecution is seeking bail of 150 million hryvnias for Iryna Mudra.
On August 19, the former deputy head of the Office of the President was notified of her status as a suspect as part of the “Forest Gump” special operation, which anti-corruption agencies are conducting as part of the fight against high-level corruption.
According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), the case involves 150 million hryvnias in cash, which was funneled into the legal financial system through a series of accounts held by shell companies for the purpose of paying bail for one of the members of a criminal organization in the “Midas” case.
On the morning of August 19, NABU and the SAP announced that they had exposed the criminal organization.
At this time, the court has not issued a final decision regarding a preventive measure for Iryna Mudra.

NABU and the SAPO exposed a criminal organization operating under the leadership of a current and a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament, with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President of Ukraine and other individuals. Anti-corruption agencies have released the full audio recording related to the case.

Searches are also being conducted at Sens Bank as part of a special anti-corruption operation by NABU and the SAP.
