Return from the ATO: 80 reports have already been filed in just a few days
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has reported the initial results of a new mechanism for the return of service members who have left their units without permission (SZCH). In the first few days of the program, 80 service members submitted requests to resume their service.
Deputy Minister of Defense Mstislav Banik announced this during a briefing.
According to him, 22 applications have already been approved by unit commanders, and some service members have already arrived at their new units to resume service.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the new mechanism allows servicemembers to independently choose a unit and commander for their continued service. After the application is approved, the servicemember has 72 hours to report to the chosen unit.
It is also no longer necessary to contact the Military Law Enforcement Service or reserve battalions. All procedures are carried out through an electronic system and are directly approved by brigade commanders.
Currently, more than 50 combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have joined the program, including the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, the 93rd Mechanized Brigade “Kholodny Yar,” the 92nd Mechanized Brigade, as well as the 63rd, 81st, and 152nd Brigades.
The Ministry of Defense considers the program’s launch a success and expects that the new mechanism will help bring a significant number of servicemen back into the military.
A digital mechanism for the return of soldiers after unauthorized absence from their units has been launched in Ukraine via the “Army+” app, which allows them to complete the procedure without unnecessary bureaucracy and immediately select a new unit. The Ministry of Defense says the system should accelerate the return of motivated soldiers to the most effective units of the Armed Forces.
Thanks to improved training, the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince M. the Brave has achieved one of the lowest desertion rates among all units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
