Law enforcement agencies in nine countries have uncovered an international network involved in the sexual abuse of women

Law enforcement agencies from nine countries carried out a large-scale international operation called “Medusa, which resulted in the arrest of 57 suspects accused of committing sexual violence against their partners and loved ones. Most of the victims were women who often did not even realize they had been victimized.

According to the investigation, members of several online networks drugged their wives, girlfriends, and other female relatives using narcotics or potent medications. They then committed sexual violence, documented the crimes in photos and videos, and distributed the recordings online.

The investigation began in April 2026 and spanned seven countries. During the special operation, law enforcement identified 158 victims, who are now safe.

As part of the operation, 57 individuals suspected of involvement in the criminal activity were arrested.

Operation “Medusa” was coordinated by the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) with the support of Europol.

Law enforcement agencies from Brazil, Hungary, Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, and France also joined the investigation.

The German Federal Criminal Police Office reported that a significant number of the victims were unaware that they had been subjected to sexual violence.

Due to the effects of sedatives and painkillers, the women did not remember the events and were also unable to link certain physical symptoms to the crimes committed against them. Law enforcement officials emphasize that this made it significantly more difficult to identify such cases and investigate the criminal network’s activities.

This was reported by Deutsche Welle.

Earlier in Kyiv, law enforcement uncovered the activities of an organized criminal group that had set up a fraudulent call center to defraud U.S. citizens.

A former Crimean minister who defected to Russia was detained in Kyiv.

The SBU detained an FSB agent who was directing strikes against Kherson.
