The prosecutor's office is seeking a court order to require the signing of a security contract for a historic site in Pushcha-Vodytsia
The Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit seeking to compel the owner of a building in Pushcha-Vodytsia to comply with legal requirements regarding the protection of cultural heritage. The lawsuit concerns the “Residential Building” historic site, for which the owner is required to enter into a preservation agreement.
This building was entered into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine as an architectural monument of local significance back in 2014.
The monument is one of the unique examples of wooden summer cottage architecture, with its original layout and structure well preserved. The house was built in the historicist style, incorporating elements of the Neo-Renaissance and Neoclassical styles, and serves as an example of early 20th-century urban planning. However, the building is currently in a state of disrepair and requires renovation work.
At the same time, the private company that owns the building is evading its obligation to enter into a preservation agreement for the historic site. This violates the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Cultural Heritage” and poses risks to the preservation of the site.
In light of this, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit with the court to ensure the proper protection of the historic site.
Currently, the Kyiv District Administrative Court has opened proceedings on the prosecutor’s office’s lawsuit.
