The Rada summoned the head of the NBU over the mention of Sense Bank in the Forest Gump deal

The Verkhovna Rada summoned National Bank Governor Andriy Pyshny to report on the situation surrounding the state-owned Sense Bank. The resolution was passed by a vote of 155 members of parliament.

The reason for this was the bank’s involvement in the “Forest Gump” operation.

The decision to summon the head of the NBU was supported by 155 members of parliament. Andriy Pyshnyy is to report to parliament on the financial institution’s operations.

Use of the Bank in a Criminal Scheme

An investigation by anti-corruption agencies drew the MPs’ attention to the bank. Specifically, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) conducted a special operation and exposed a criminal organization that included current and former members of parliament, as well as high-ranking officials from the Office of the President who may have been involved.

According to the investigation, the suspects laundered 150 million hryvnias in cash. The money was funneled through the accounts of shell companies to legalize it and use it to pay bail for a defendant in the “Midas” case.

To carry out the scheme, the perpetrators used the state-owned Sense Bank. In early June, the organizers of the scheme gained effective control over the bank and used it for their own interests.

This was reported with reference to “Suspilne.”

NABU has revealed the first details of the dismantling of the criminal group as part of the “Forest Gump” special operation.

As a reminder, searches are being conducted at Sense Bank as part of an anti-corruption special operation by NABU and the SAPO.

NABU and the SAP announced a special operation to expose a criminal organization which, according to preliminary data, operated under the leadership of current and former members of the Ukrainian Parliament and with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President and other individuals.

As part of the “Forest Gump” anti-corruption special operation, searches are also being conducted at the residence of Iryna Mudra, deputy head of the Office of the President.

NABU and the SAPO have released wiretap recordings in connection with the “Forest Gump” anti-corruption special operation.
