Prosecutor Petrov's family bought up luxury apartments, cars, and hectares of land on a massive scale during the war

Prosecutor Petrov's family bought up luxury apartments, cars, and hectares of land on a massive scale during the war

Civil society activists and anti-corruption investigators have uncovered vast wealth, luxury real estate, and dozens of land plots belonging to the family of Dmytro Petrov, an official with the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The scale of these assets has caused a significant public outcry due to their apparent discrepancy with the civil servant’s official income

The origin of these funds now requires a detailed investigation by the relevant authorities.

Investigators paid particular attention to a unique family scheme for distributing land around the official’s main estate.

Adjacent to the prosecutor’s own plots are substantial tracts of land officially registered in the names of his mother, Svitlana Petrova, and his grandmother, Vira Tovkach.

His mother owns about 1.5 hectares of land, which borders her son’s property and forms a single upscale complex enclosed by a shared fence.

Two residential buildings, large concrete structures, roads, and other infrastructure elements have already been built on this jointly secured territory.

However, the official’s asset declarations from previous years make no mention whatsoever of funding for such a large-scale construction project.

The family’s rapid enrichment is also clearly evident in the financial status of the official’s wife, Lyudmyla Prykhodko.

According to official data, as recently as 2019, her family lived in government-provided housing, and she herself occupied a room measuring just 16 square meters in a university dormitory.

However, by 2021, she had acquired hectares of land, apartments, and commercial properties in the capital, near Kyiv, and in Uzhhorod, as well as a luxury car worth $75,000.

Dmytro Petrov himself reported substantial assets in his 2021 financial disclosure statement, including a 150-square-meter house and a 222-square-meter estate with a swimming pool.

In addition, he declared three cars, two of which he purchased brand-new from a dealership for a total of $85,000.

However, the real boom in high-value purchases occurred in 2023–2024, when the family bought up real estate en masse in the “Sofia Residence” residential complex, properties in Khodosivka, and new cars.

During this period, the family’s fleet expanded to include a “Lux EL,” a “Volvo,” a “Suzuki,” and a modern electric vehicle, the “Audi Q8 E-tron.”

This was reported by Absolution Leaks.
