Russian attacks forced Ukrzaliznytsia to suspend ticket sales
Due to the consequences of the latest Russian attacks on railway infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia has suspended ticket sales for certain trains and dates starting August 27. The company explained that it is currently reorganizing its logistics and train schedules.
Ukrzaliznytsia stated that the recent enemy attacks have resulted in the deaths of railway workers, as well as damage to and destruction of locomotives, railcars, and railway infrastructure.
As a result, the company is forced to adjust routes and train schedules, so ticket sales for certain dates and destinations have been suspended as of August 27.
The company’s press office emphasized that ticket sales will resume as soon as the feasibility of operating the trains is finalized and all necessary technical decisions are made. Ukrzaliznytsia has not yet specified exact dates—the company has candidly acknowledged that it cannot provide a specific date.
Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia reported train delays on August 7 due to the threat of shelling.
Ukrzaliznytsia has stopped paying mobilized employees their average monthly salary. Instead, the company has introduced a one-time financial assistance payment following mobilization and upon veterans’ return to work.
