The SBU detained a student for coordinating Russian attacks in the Cherkasy region
The Security Service’s counterintelligence unit exposed an FSB agent who was directing missile and drone strikes against energy infrastructure in central Ukraine. The perpetrator turned out to be a local student who was looking for easy money on Telegram channels and agreed to collaborate with the enemy.
The Security Service of Ukraine reports that the suspect was detained in one of the student dormitories.
The suspect tracked the location of a key energy facility, photographing its grounds under the guise of taking a walk. He stored the intelligence on his own smartphone to send a summary report to his handler from the Russian special services. SBU officers exposed the agent at the initial stage of his activities, preventing the transfer of classified information.
During searches, investigators seized computer equipment and a mobile phone from the suspect containing evidence of correspondence with representatives of the Russian Federation. Investigators informed the young man that he was suspected of high treason committed under martial law. The suspect is currently being held in custody without the right to bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
