Sybiga and the French Foreign Minister discussed the G7's role in strengthening security in the Black Sea

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga held talks with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barro, on strengthening security in the Black Sea. The two sides discussed how France’s presidency of the Group of Seven could help coordinate a response to Russian attacks in the region.

“We discussed the escalation of Russian attacks in the Black Sea, particularly strikes on Ukrainian ports and civilian vessels. These attacks threaten freedom of navigation, hinder grain exports, and, more importantly, require a decisive and coordinated international response. We focused on how France’s G7 presidency can help mobilize such a response, strengthen maritime security, and increase pressure on Russia,” Sibiga noted.

The parties also discussed additional support in the area of air defense, preparations for the coming winter, and France’s continued support for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

The diplomat reported this on the social media platform X.
