Silpo plans to acquire the Arsen supermarket chain

Silpo has submitted applications to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine seeking approval to acquire control over the assets of the Eurotek group of companies, which are associated with the “Arsen” supermarket chain. The Antimonopoly Committee is set to review five applications concerning real estate and retail equipment.

This is statedin the agenda for the regulator’s meeting on Thursday, May 14.

As reported byZaxid.net, the Eurotek group of companies confirmed the closure of all its stores in Ukraine the day before: the Arsen, Fresh, Soyuz, and Kvartal chains. The last day of operation is scheduled for May 31.

"We have ensured that the best operators in the Ukrainian market take over our locations," Eurotek owner Mykhailo Veselsky assured in response to a request from Zaxid.net.

The Eurotek Group has been operating in the market since 1995 and unites the Arsen, Fresh, Soyuz, and Kvartal supermarket chains, which are managed by Alliance Market.

The "Arsen" chain is concentrated mainly in Lviv, where it has about six stores, as well as two locations each in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne.

"Soyuz" (14 stores) and "Kvartal" (23 discount stores) operated as regional chains (Chernihiv, Pryluky, Slavutych, Zhytomyr, Berdychiv, and Kyiv).

The "Fresh" chain operated nine supermarkets in Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, and Rivne.

According to YouControl, the company’s revenue in 2025 amounted to 3 billion UAH. However, the company was operating at a loss.

In Kyiv, two Silpo supermarkets will operate around the clock.

Supermarkets in Kyiv may switch to round-the-clock operation: The Ministry of Economy has reached out to the chains.

As a reminder, rumors are actively spreading on social media about the mass closure of Kyiv supermarkets due to blackouts.
