The fall migration does not mean that Ukraine will be without storks for long. The birds will return in the spring. White storks are known for their attachment to their nesting sites. Many of them return to the same areas and may reuse their old nests for many years.

Stork nests often grow very large, as the birds repair them every year and add new branches. Some of these nests can be used for decades. That is why, for Ukrainians, the arrival of storks in the spring has long been a symbol of the return of warm weather.
