A court has confiscated 7.3 million hryvnias in assets belonging to an official of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Migration Service

The High Anti-Corruption Court has ruled that a portion of a shopping center owned by Vadym Sidletskyi, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Office of the Migration Service, and his wife constitutes an unjustified asset. 

This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Action Center.

According to the court’s decision, 7.3 million hryvnias, representing part of the asset’s value, will be confiscated and transferred to the state treasury. The shopping center, with a total area of over 913 square meters, is located in the village of Chornyi Ostriv and is valued at 13.7 million hryvnias. The official’s wife acquired ownership of this property between 2021 and 2023.

In addition to the aforementioned center, the Sidletsky family declared two apartments, a residential house, nine land plots, and four cars, including a Tesla. The decision was issued by a panel of judges consisting of Olga Salandyak, Natalia Movchan, and Tetiana Lytvynko. The defendants have the right to appeal this verdict.

This case was made possible by the civil forfeiture mechanism, which allows the state to seize officials’ property if its origin is not supported by official income. The systematic work of the High Anti-Corruption Court and law enforcement agencies continues to uncover assets of dubious origin held by public officials at various levels.

The High Anti-Corruption Court granted the Ministry of Justice’s claim and confiscated the assets of former Ukrainian MP Oleg Tsarev for the state.

A panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court fully upheld the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Inspectorate regarding the confiscation of property that belonged to the former head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Carpathian Region.
