In Khmelnytskyi, a woman fell from a 16-story apartment building
Law enforcement officials in Khmelnytskyi Oblast are investigating the circumstances of a tragic incident that occurred late in the evening on June 6 in one of the residential neighborhoods of the regional capital. Local residents discovered the body of a young woman showing no signs of life on the grounds of a high-rise apartment building.
Paramedics from the emergency medical team, who arrived promptly at the scene, confirmed the victim’s death due to severe injuries characteristic of a fall from a great height.
A report about the discovery of the body on Starokostiantynivske Highway was received by the police duty station at 10:40 p.m. The investigative team quickly identified the deceased—she was an 18-year-old local resident.
According to preliminary findings, the Khmelnytskyi resident committed suicide by jumping from the open terrace of a 16-story residential building. To determine the exact time and final cause of death, the body was sent for a forensic medical examination. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional Homicide) with the additional legal classification of “suicide.” Law enforcement officials are currently reviewing the girl’s contacts and examining her social media accounts and mobile phone to determine the motives behind the tragedy.
