A man died in Lviv after a grenade exploded in his apartment

A grenade exploded in one of Lviv’s residential buildings. A 35-year-old man was killed in the incident. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The Lviv City Council reported this on Telegram.

“Today, an explosion occurred in one of the apartments on the 8th floor of a residential building at 39 Yuriia Lypa Street… The wall between the rooms in the apartment was damaged,” the statement reads.

The body of a man showing no signs of life was found in the apartment.

Specialists from the State Emergency Service and the police are working at the scene.

The Lviv Regional Police reported on Facebook that a report of a fire in an apartment building was received around 4:50 p.m.

It is known that the fire started after a grenade exploded; the deceased—a 35-year-old local resident—had been storing it in the apartment.

During a search of the apartment, law enforcement officers discovered another grenade.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide) with the note "accident" and under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, and explosives).

An explosion occurred in a high-rise building in Lviv; one person was killed.

The number of casualtiesfrom the attack on Lviv has risen to 32 people.

On March 24, Russian occupiers carried out a massive attack on western regions of Ukraine using kamikaze drones. In Lviv, one of the drones struck a building in the city center, causing a fire.

This attack was part of a large-scale air assault by the Russian Federation that on March 24 targeted several regions of Ukraine, including critical infrastructure facilities in the rear regions.
