Ukraine Has Reached an Agreement with the U.S. on Monthly Deliveries of Missiles for the Patriot System, Says Zelenskyy
Ukraine and the United States have agreed on monthly deliveries of interceptor missiles to Kyiv for the Patriot air defense systems. At the same time, the quantities being received are insufficient to meet Ukraine’s needs.
According to Zelenskyy, the United States is best positioned to assist Ukraine with interceptor missiles, as it manufactures the relevant systems and ammunition.
“The U.S. will supply Ukraine with interceptor missiles for the Patriot system every month. We have an agreement,” Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, the head of state emphasized that the number of missiles Ukraine will receive remains insufficient.
Amid intensifying Russian missile and drone attacks, Ukraine is facing a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems.
Zelenskyy has repeatedly called on international partners not to delay the delivery of air and missile defense systems, stressing that such delays directly affect the safety of the civilian population.
According to available information, missile deliveries to Ukraine’s air defense forces have decreased threefold compared to last year, even though partners have the necessary resources.
According to the president, partners attribute the shortage of ammunition, in particular, to their involvement in events in the Middle East.
At the same time, Ukraine is accelerating the development of its own air defense systems to partially compensate for the shortage of Western missiles and strengthen protection against Russian attacks.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
Poland and Germany have the ability to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems.
