The Ukrainian Bebradron, with a range of 45 km, has been officially designated

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has officially approved the “Bebradrone” tactical drone, developed by the Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech. It can now be officially supplied to the Defense Forces and procured with government funds. According to its specifications, the drone can operate at a range of up to 45 km and carry a payload of up to 7.5 kg.

Ukrainian manufacturer BlueBird Tech has received certification for its “Bebradrone” tactical drone. This means that military units can officially procure this drone for the needs of the Defense Forces. The certification also opens the possibility of supplying the drone using state budget funds. Previously, the manufacturer had to complete the necessary procedures so that its design could be officially used in the defense procurement system.

What is known about the “Bebradrone”

The “Bebradrone” is a fixed-wing, aircraft-type drone. It was developed in Ukraine to perform tactical missions at medium ranges. According to the manufacturer, the drone has a range of up to 45 km. It can remain airborne for at least 30 minutes.

The “Bebradrone’s” maximum claimed speed is 150 km/h. At the same time, the drone can carry up to 7.5 kg of payload. It is precisely this combination of range and payload capacity that allows the drone to be used for various tactical missions. At the same time, the specific type of equipment or payload depends on the mission and the drone’s configuration.

How the Drone Is Launched

A compact pneumatic catapult is used to launch the “Bebradrone.” It was developed and is manufactured by BlueBird Tech itself. This launch method does not require a traditional runway. This can be important for operating the drone in field conditions where there is no specially prepared launch site.

The operator controls the drone in real time. Video and telemetry data are transmitted during flight, allowing the operator to monitor the drone’s operation and receive information from it.

What the company says

Valery Zarubin, CEO of BlueBird Tech, called obtaining codification one of the key milestones for the project. According to him, military units can now purchase the “Bebradrone” directly and use it to carry out missions.

Codification effectively moves the development from the production project stage to the official list of weapons and military equipment that can be supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. For the manufacturer, this also means the ability to scale up production and work on government contracts.

What Codification Means

Codification is a procedure during which the Ministry of Defense reviews and officially approves a model of weaponry or military equipment for use. After completing this procedure, the Ukrainian military can procure and receive the relevant product in accordance with established procedures.

Thus, “Bebradrone” now has official status for supply to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Going forward, the drone can be procured with government funds and used by military units according to their needs. This was reported by Dev.

On the afternoon of October 5, Russian troops launched KAB strikes on Kharkiv. The attack resulted in one fatality and several injuries, as well as fires in warehouses and damage to residential buildings.
