A Ukrainian JetKiller intercepted a Geran-5 for the second time
Operators of the Lasar’s Group unmanned aerial systems of the Ukrainian National Guard have destroyed a Russian “Geran-5” jet drone for the second time in recent days. A Ukrainian P1-SUN JetKiller, manufactured by SkyFall, was used for the interception. Footage of the interceptor in action has been released online.
The onboard camera footage shows the moment of the interception. The P1-SUN JetKiller approaches the Russian drone, which is moving toward it. The “Geran-5” enters the Ukrainian interceptor’s field of view, after which the pilot confirms its destruction. According to SkyFall, the target was destroyed by drone operators from the National Guard’s Lasar’s Group. This is the second instance in recent days that this unit has reported destroying a “Geran-5” using the P1-SUN JetKiller. The company demonstrated the first such interception on September 30.
This time, particular attention was drawn to how the interceptor was controlled. During the mission, the crew used SkyFall’s remote control system. It allows the operator to control the P1-SUN from a distance without being directly near the launch site. The company explains that thanks to this system, the operator can work from a safer location. Control is carried out remotely via the internet, which prevents the crew from having to approach the interceptor’s deployment area.
What Is Known About the P1-SUN JetKiller
The P1-SUN JetKiller is a Ukrainian interceptor drone developed by SkyFall to combat jet-powered attack drones. It was unveiled in 2026 as a separate variant of the P1-SUN family. According to the manufacturer, the JetKiller can reach speeds of up to 370 km/h, remain airborne for up to 15 minutes, and operate at a range of up to 30 kilometers. The maximum stated flight altitude is up to 9,000 meters, and the warhead weighs 500 grams.
The interceptor can also be equipped with various cameras. Some versions feature an artificial intelligence module for automatic target detection and acquisition. However, the manufacturer did not specify which particular variant of the P1-SUN was used during this interception. The “Geran-5” is a jet-powered strike drone. That is why special interceptor drones are used to combat such targets; they must rapidly approach the aerial target and destroy it before it reaches its intended route.
A previous interception of a “Geran-5” using the P1-SUN JetKiller took place in late September. At that time, SkyFall also released a video showing the interceptor in action, and the company confirmed the involvement of operators from Lasar’s Group.
What Is Known About SkyFall
SkyFall is a Ukrainian technology and defense company engaged in the development and production of unmanned systems. Among its well-known developments are the P1-SUN interceptors, Shrike FPV drones, and the Vampire heavy-lift drone. The company also develops communication and remote control systems for its drones. It was precisely this system that was used during both of the publicly disclosed “Geran-5” interceptions.
SkyFall claims that its systems are already being used extensively by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The company also reports significant results from their use, including the destruction of Russian equipment and personnel. However, these assessments are statements made by the manufacturer itself and have not been independently verified by open sources. Thus, the P1-SUN JetKiller has already been demonstrated in action against the Russian “Geran-5” twice in a short period. Both incidents are linked to operators from Lasar’s Group, and the interceptor was controlled remotely.
Since August 27, 235 air raid alerts have been recorded in Kyiv, lasting a total of 261 hours—more than 10 days. Ihor Klymenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, stated that the intensity of Russian attacks has become a new challenge for Ukraine’s air defense forces. According to him, new Ukrainian interceptor systems are already undergoing testing, and some combat units are using them in the field. Ukraine is preparing to move to mass production of these systems.
