The government is halting funding for construction, repairs to parks, and the replacement of cobblestones — Prime Minister Koretsky
The situation with Ukraine’s public finances remains challenging. Part of the planned international funding has not yet been received, in part because Ukraine has failed to fulfill some of its obligations to its international partners.
The government has adopted a decision on the prioritization of public expenditures. Funds will be directed first and foremost toward defense, pensions, and social benefits, as well as salaries for teachers, doctors, and other public sector employees.
At the same time, non-essential expenditures will be postponed. This includes, in particular, new construction, renovations, and major repairs—unless they are critical—as well as public improvements such as parks, squares, fountains, and repaving.
The Prime Minister called on local authorities to review their budgets and limit non-essential spending. According to him, resources must now be directed toward critically important areas.
