Nearly 3,500 couples got married in Ukraine over the course of a week

Last week, 3,445 marriages were officially registered in Ukraine. The largest number of couples got married in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv regions. Among the registered marriages were unions between Ukrainians and foreign nationals, and 267 couples took advantage of the “Marriage in a Day” service.

 

According to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, civil registry offices registered 3,445 marriages last week. Kyiv saw the highest number of marriages—944 new families were formed there over the course of the week.

In second place was the Dnipropetrovsk region, where 638 marriages were registered. Another 399 couples got married in the Lviv region. Thus, these three regions led the way in the number of marriages registered during the week.

Foreign nationals were among the newlyweds

Of all registered marriages, 78 were between Ukrainian citizens and foreign nationals. Another three marriages were registered between foreign nationals.

The Ministry of Justice also reported that 267 couples took advantage of the “Marriage in a Day” service. This service allows couples to officially register their marriage quickly, without a long wait. In total, 3,445 new families were formed in Ukraine in a single week.
