A Ministry of Communities, Territories, and IDPs Has Been Established in Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has officially established the Ministry of Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons. Vitaliy Bezgin has been appointed head of the new ministry.

“For our communities and regions, this is a key and specialized ministry that will help consolidate the government’s efforts and strengthen local capacity. This ministry is headed by one of the country’s leading experts on regional development—Vitaliy Bezgin,” said Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Office of the President.

According to him, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine will provide reliable support in carrying out its work and making important decisions.

“We sincerely congratulate Mr. Vitaliy on his well-deserved appointment to this high government office. I am confident that our country has grown stronger today,” Mykyta emphasized.

As a reminder, newly appointed Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in its new composition. During the meeting, the government identified the main areas of focus for the near future and set priority tasks for the ministers.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he will soon discuss the modernization of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, and the diplomatic team. According to him, embassies must operate much more effectively.
