Easter and Christmas topped the list of the most popular holidays in Ukraine
According to the survey results, Easter and Christmas remain the most popular holidays among Ukrainians in 2026.
Contrary to expectations, New Year’s did not take first place in the ranking. It is religious holidays that traditionally enjoy the greatest support among the population and remain the most beloved for the majority of respondents.
This is reported with reference to the results of a study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
According to the survey data, Easter (67%) and Christmas (66%) remain the most popular. They have consistently held the top positions in recent years, which attests to the significant role of religion in the cultural life of Ukrainians.
Next is Ukraine’s Independence Day (54%) as one of the main holidays for Ukrainians, reflecting national pride and patriotism.
Equally popular is Defenders of Ukraine Day (53%), which reflects deep respect for military personnel and gratitude for their protection and heroic struggle against the enemy in defending the country’s independence and sovereignty.

New Year’s Day is associated with Christmas and is traditionally popular among Ukrainians. However, its popularity used to be on par with Christmas (around 80%), whereas now it stands at 40%.
Next are Ukraine’s Constitution Day (28%), Trinity Sunday (27%), and International Women’s Day (24%). Victory Day (11%) and Labor Day (May 1) (5%) round out the list.
