Veteran Koziatynsky announced the end of the campaigns in support of Fedorov
After more than a month of protests calling for Mykhailo Fedorov’s reinstatement to the Ministry of Defense, the organizers announced the end of the demonstrations. Dmytro Koziatynskyi, a veteran and one of the protest organizers, thanked all participants and called the rallies successful.
What is known about the end of the protests?
Veteran Kozyatynsky thanked everyone who took part in the protests and stated that, in his opinion, the demonstrations were not in vain.
“I believe it was all worth it: at the very least, we achieved the dismissal of Syrskyi and the appointment of Drapato, which few could have expected just a month ago. I’m incredibly happy about this,” he said.
At the same time, the veteran expressed regret that the protesters and the authorities had failed to establish a meaningful dialogue. In his view, it was precisely the lack of communication between the authorities and society that was the root cause of the protests.
According to Koziatynsky, for him personally, the protests were aimed primarily at dialogue and reforms, rather than at fighting against specific officials.
As I have said many times, for me these protests were specifically about dialogue and reforms, not about individuals. So I would like to wish Mr. Khmara success in his new position, and I sincerely hope that he will continue the course of reforms and the fight against corruption in the defense sector,” the veteran emphasized.
Separately, Kozyatynsky commented on the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine during the war. He stated that he is opposed to elections under the current circumstances. Among the reasons are the difficulty of organizing voting for military personnel on the front lines, as well as the risk of deepening social divisions during the election campaign.
Koziatynsky also stressed that, in his opinion, street protests should not be turned into a platform for electoral competition.
He wrote about this on social media.
After his dismissal, Fedorov received an exemption from mobilization, according to Goncharenko.
