Video: Border Guards Rescued a Man Who Got Lost in the Marshes While Trying to Cross the Border
A resident of Kryvyi Rih who attempted to illegally cross Ukraine’s northern border was located and rescued by border guards. The man got lost in a marshy area while trying to leave Ukraine.
Lost in the woods and swamps, he wandered for several days without water or food. Realizing he would not be able to find his way out on his own, the man called the law enforcement hotline and asked for help in locating him.
Border guards promptly joined the search efforts. Servicemen from the 9th Border Guard Detachment found the man and provided him with the necessary assistance.
The attempt at an illegal journey ended unexpectedly—instead of the route he had dreamed of, with a final destination in the European Union, the man found himself in the Polissya marshes, from where border guards had to rescue him.
The man will now face trial for attempting to illegally cross the state border.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, debris from a downed Russian strike drone caused a fire in the warehouse of one of the local enterprises. The fire covered an area of 200 square meters, according to Serhiy Tyurin, head of the regional military administration.
