Zelenskyy expects a major economic boom in Ukraine after the war

Once the full-scale war ends, Ukraine is poised for rapid development, so those citizens who are already in the country or will return in the near future will have significantly better chances of success. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during an appearance on the talk show “Better at Home.”

The head of state noted that due to the war, domestic competition in the country has decreased, which is a negative factor for the current economy but creates a unique window of opportunity for the future. According to him, investing in one’s own business or knowledge during difficult times in history always yields the greatest results, as post-war reconstruction will inevitably be accompanied by a large-scale influx of international funds, foreign businesses, and capital.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that the state must prepare in advance for serious challenges related to the mass return of people to their homes, who will need help adapting and finding their place. At the same time, he expressed confidence in the country’s European future: although the legal process of joining the European Union is still ongoing, mentally Ukraine is already part of the European community. The full opening of European markets to such a geographically large country with enormous potential will be a powerful impetus for development.

The President specifically thanked the young people who are already deciding to return to their homeland. He concluded that after victory, the country will need absolutely all specialists, but right now their presence, assistance, and participation in defending the state are critically important directly within Ukraine.

After the war, Ukraine will face a shortage of construction workers—demographer. Ukraine is facing a labor shortage across all sectors, but the greatest demand is for workers in industry.
