Zelenskyy spoke with the Pope following the Russian attack
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on a conversation with Pope Leo XIV amid Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president wrote about this on his X account.
As Zelenskyy noted, his conversation with the pontiff took place amid a massive attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine.
He told the Pope about the negotiation process and his work with the American team.
Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude for the assistance in returning abducted Ukrainian children and for all the humanitarian aid provided by the Vatican.
In addition, the conversation touched on the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.
"I wished His Holiness and the faithful celebrating Easter this Sunday a blessed holiday and peace. Of course, we would be delighted to welcome His Holiness to Ukraine on an apostolic visit. And I am especially grateful that the Pope remembers Ukraine and Ukrainians and prays for peace for our people," Zelenskyy added.
