Zelenskyy appointed Igor Klymenko as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine

On August 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree appointing former Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Klymenko took the helm of the NSDC after serving as head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 694.

“To appoint Igor Volodymyrovych Klymenko as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the decree states.

We would like to add that Kyrylo Fesyk, head of the Obolon District State Administration, is stepping down from his post.

As a reminder, Ukrainian diplomats from around the world will gather in Kyiv.

For the first time in history, Ukraine has joined the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism as an assisting country. As part of this mission, 70 Ukrainian rescue workers have traveled to France to help combat large-scale wildfires.
