Zelensky discusses US negotiations and next steps

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, informing him about yesterday’s “very constructive” work of the Ukrainian delegation in the United States, while noting that there are “difficult issues that still need to be addressed.”

This was reported on Zelensky’s Telegram channel.

Zelensky added that Ukrainian representatives will return to Europe in the coming days, and after reporting on the progress of the negotiations, further steps will be determined.

“Today, negotiations with our friends in Europe are planned. It will be a very eventful day. Diplomacy, defence, energy — the priorities are clear. Thank you to everyone who is helping!” the president concluded.

On 30 November, another meeting between the Ukrainian and US delegations took place in Florida, focusing on finalising the US president’s peace plan. Despite lengthy negotiations, several key issues remain unresolved. In particular, the specifics of security guarantees for Ukraine from the US and Western countries have not yet been determined.

According to reports, US President Donald Trump’s envoy, Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, allegedly warned Ukraine and its European partners of a “deterioration of the peace agreement” and demanded that Ukraine cede territories.
