59 clashes reported on the front line, fiercest fighting on Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka axes
Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back Russian advances on several front-line axes. The heaviest fighting today has been reported on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka axes. Russian forces also carried out air strikes and shelling on civilian areas, with communities in Sumy region affected. Overall, 123 combat clashes were recorded during the day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, Russian forces launched three attacks, conducted two air strikes using guided bombs, and carried out 34 shelling attacks, including one with multiple-launch rocket systems.
Seven clashes occurred on the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis near Prylipka, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory and Izbytske, with one engagement ongoing. On the Kupiansk axis, Ukrainian troops repelled an attack near Synkivka.
On the Lyman axis, Russian forces carried out six attacks near Myrne, Drobysheve, Kolodiazi, Zarichne and Yampilivka; two clashes are still ongoing. Two attacks were reported on the Sloviansk axis near Sviato-Pokrovske.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Russian troops launched seven assaults near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar and towards Markove.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks, with three clashes continuing.
The most intense fighting was on the Pokrovsk axis, where Russian forces made 56 attempts to push Ukrainian troops back. Battles continue near Shakhove, Ivanivka, Dorozhnie, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Horikhove, Dachne and towards Novopavlivka.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, Ukrainian forces repelled eight assaults near Zelenyi Hai, Verbove, Stepove, Vyshneve, Krasnohirskyi and towards Nechaivka.
On the Huliaipole axis, Russian troops attempted to advance 20 times near Solodke, Varvarivka, Huliaipole and towards Zelene and Dobropillia.
On the Orikhiv axis, Ukrainian defenders are repelling an attack near Plavni, while on the Dnipro axis Russian forces made one unsuccessful attempt to advance. “Our troops continue to successfully hold back the enemy on all axes, even where aviation and rocket artillery are being used,” the General Staff said.
